Some random local news and then a shocking RIP and brief discussion of that at the very end.

I wasn’t planning on doing another one of these so soon but several things happened which necessitated this.

You Know, Most Messageboards Are Rubbish

Yes, yet another discussion of messageboards. First things first, the return of the old MSL messageboard and how it was back in 2005-2006. Sure, it’s still rubbish and it’s just as pointless and laughable as how the board was before, when it was mainly a music place where MSL and Indy and people no one know blabber on about a bunch of horrible musical acts (such as The White Stripes or Smashing Pumpkins) while hardly any of MSL’s acolytes posted there at all. Now that MSL has driven yet another person away, it’s back to how it was, where you get many posts from the mindless followers and at least I get more stupidity to laugh at. They’re now calling themselves as “The Toadies” as a way to make me look bad, or something. Rather, I’m flattered that they care so much about me even though they say that they hate me as much as I hate them. At least with them announcing their get-togethers on the board, I know which places to avoid at which times!

The thread concerning MSL and him trolling in real life*, after reading that, one thing popped into my head. It was, “Talk about a CHILD in a MAN’S body”. I mean, grow up; who thinks it’s ok to act like you’re mentally-challenged on purpose? Talk about disgusting.

One last thing until I get to the fraud story. This post from Nathan Warren*… yikes. If that isn’t a clear sign of mental illness and that he needs his friends to do an intervention for him, then I don’t know what is. Then again, that entire gang of lackeys and the head chief himself could provide a lifetime of work for a psychiatrist. The fact that on the front page of his site the head honcho posted a pair of songs from a few years ago which lead to a thread on Florida Wrestling Fans that I won’t link to and it lead to messageboard posts where he originally was all sobby and whining like an infant about how he almost killed himself numerous times and then moments later in another post he was all Mr. Tough Guy and telling haters that they “could suck his tiny Jewish cock” (hey, I’m quoting him, not paraphrasing); what a joke of a human being he is. Also, the fact that the other song from a few years ago revolving around someone in this state’s scene happens to be… me. I am so flattered.

Now, the fraud thing. As I mentioned in a previous post, I magically discovered on Monday night that there was someone on the Afro Squad messageboard who was posting under the name BlairRussell and their avatar was of me with an afro wig photoshopped onto my head, but problem is, that user was *not* me! Rather, it’s an impersonator. Given that the impostor was someone who slagged ACW (and I know of some people and their followers that have problems with that fed that date to last year and before) and given that some individuals are known for doing fake accounts on local boards, then it’s easy to put 2 and 2 together and it’s either those individuals behind it or someone making it look like that it’s one of those individuals. No matter who it is, I wish I didn’t have to sign up for that board, log on, and tell people who the real Blair Russell is and not to believe the faux poster; it’s something I had to do, as after all, when you have some people “in the business” believing what the fake me was saying and threatening to beat the shit out of the real me… yeah, I had to sign up and set things straight. Thankfully, everyone seems to believe me so that should be the end of that rigmarole.

Why Do You Punish Me So, Alcohol?

As someone said to me after the FIP show last Saturday, “Stop drinking so much!” I think that guy is on to something. Only after I posted my review of that show, I realized that I left out quite a few details that I was going to put in there, but for whatever reasons I didn’t. Onto that info:

One thing I noticed is that unlike the past few shows there was no continuation of whatever storyline there is between Shawn Osborne and Brad Attitude, which never got past “they watched each other’s matches.” I hope that FIP doesn’t “pull an eKlipse” and drop the storyline for no reason at all.

There was a moment during the Osirian Portal match where one of them (don’t ask me which one it was; feel free to gripe about what I just said, haters) decided, while holding hands with Nooie Lee-no, it wasn’t as homosexual as I’m making it sound-to do a dance with him. Lee decided to do so, just because, and that resulted in that Portal guy blindsiding him. Hey, it was funny at the time.

I noticed when Bruce Santee came out for his match that he was in great shape; I mean, the best shape he’s been in for a long time. I just wanted to point that out.

I saw that there were a pair of fans there (a male and female) who wore homemade Chris Jones shirts. All things considered, it looked cool and it makes me realize that more local guys need to sell t-shirts.

eKlipse

Here are the results from last night’s eKlipse show. All in all, it doesn’t sound like a bad show… aside from it being too short and starting way too late. However, allegedly there was a major screw-up in that bunkhouse match with a gimmick on a pole. The gimmick kept on falling off the pole and they had to change the rules of the match midway through! Serves them right for doing a match just to rib me, and despite them vehemently claiming that wasn’t the case, c’mon, I know it was. But still, I can say that the shows at least sound better than they used to.

RIP Mitsuharu Misawa

Imagine my shock this morning when I woke up and Mitsuharu Misawa had passed away due to a heart attack while in the ring wrestling in a tag team match. Those of you who aren’t familiar with the Japanese (puroresu) wrestling scene, he is a HUGE name. I mean, he’s one of the best of all-time anywhere in pro wrestling, not just in Japan. I couldn’t do justice to explaining why that is the case, but just note that it’s what many people believe. It’s huge and tragic news in the pro wrestling scene, needless to say. I mean, he was the president of Pro Wrestling NOAH, a major fed over there, and who knows what’ll happen there.

As for me and him, I read about him and all those other All Japan wrestler in the “Apter Mags” (you know, like Pro Wrestling Illustrated) in the early 90’s and I was very interested in seeing their matches. Finally, in the late 90’s, at one of those RF Video stands that you’d find in a mall (those were the days)-this one was north of Chicago-I got a 2 hour best of Misawa vs. (Toshiaki) Kawada tape that had clips of their biggest matches and the full match from the Tokyo Dome where Kawada finally won the title from him. It was amazing stuff and it was my first ever puro tape. But, in the days before broadband Internet and my finances that was about as much All Japan wrestling that I saw. There was me going to college in Illinois in the early 2000’s so I focused on that. But, a few years ago I got broadband and due to a site that I won’t name as the guy who runs the page doesn’t want it to be well-publicized, I was able to download *many* of Misawa’s most famous and highly-rated bouts and it was just then that I fully appreciated all the praise he has gotten. I like many different styles of pro wrestling but for this style, Misawa was great at it and I think that many kinds of pro wrestling fans and enjoy or at least appreciate it.

So yeah, it’s awful news and even though I never got to see him live, I at least have been able to see him at his best and all that I can think of to end this is saying RIP.

On that sad note, I’ll say that I’ll be back sometime on Monday with my review of the big WXW Legends Show in Leesburg.
